The development of the digital economy will be the set of strategies and actions to contribute to driving the competitivity of the country's productive sector by inserting it into the digital economy; which implies migrating from an economy with a scarce use of information technologies, to one where the use of these technologies is generalized in all economic, cultural and social activities. The generalized use of IT generates increases in the productivity and competitiveness of the economic agents, in this way contributing to the generation of well being and greater opportunities for progress.

 

The National e-Mexico System is of the change agents in the country and through its technological and social components, has among one of its objectives, to accelerate the digital economy's development process in businesses, especially the micro, small and medium ones (mpymes), for increasing the competitiveness of the Mexican economy Mexicans; as well as develop a digitalization culture in society, particularly in the consumers.

 

With the intent that small and medium businesses be strengthened by having the means to join the new economy by exporting and importing, will be natural elements of the composition of businesses and the country's economy, the relationship with customers and vendors will be dynamized in such a way that productivity and benefits will increase substantially.

 

The vision put forth for the year 2025 is:

·         Mexico significantly reduces the digital gap that exists today with respect to its main commercial partners.

·         Within the Mexican productive sector, the digital divide among companies and among sectors is drastically reduced.

·         Industry has developed applications and equipment that have substantially diminished access costs to the digital economy for the PYMES and individuals

·         Mexican PYMES are highly integrated to the Mexican export sector's productive practices.

·         Mexico has the educational institutions and educational update methods for developing the human capital at all the levels that is required by industry.

·         Mexico has leading edge legislation with respect to the use of electronic media in commercial transactions.

 

To achieve this, the Development of the Digital Economy foresees:

·         Contribute to the development of a favorable and competitive business environment for driving the IT industry that generates an important economic flow towards the country's different regions and economic sectors.

·         Foster the development of the internal IT market by means of the implementation of the necessary instruments that will allow the PYMES to incorporate IT into their productive and administrative processes, as a result generating a virtuous circle of productivity and competitivity, based on the use of these technologies.

·         Generate the necessary conditions of legal security that encourage the use of electronic commercial transactions in a secure manner for businesses, consumers and government.

·         Driving the digitalization of the government procedures that businesses go through so as to diminish their transaction costs for this concept, contributing as well to make the services offered by the government to private individuals and incorporated entities more efficient and expedited.
